ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The European Union’s Green Deal strategy has been steering the ambitious transition towards a sustainable and climate-neutral Europe by means of policy proposals, legislative actions, funding mechanisms, research and innovation programs, and international cooperation. However, the intricacy of the requirements related to financial and environmental sustainability poses implementation challenges that need to be addressed if they are to become an integral part of pragmatic solutions to EU’s climate concerns.
In this context, RSFIA knowledge-sharing platform launches their first event - a 1.5-day invitation-only workshop titled Practical linkages between the EU Taxonomy and EIA processes, that will explore connections between the relevant EU legislation related to the sustainable finance on the one hand, and the existing environmental decision-making tools on the other.
This workshop will gather leading European experts from the financial sector, environmental authorities, environmental experts, and academia, for a comprehensive discussion on the linkages and differences in both systems. The workshop will be a forum to discuss, share experience and create guidelines for hands-on use of the EIA procedure for any proposed economic activity in line with the DNSH and SC technical screening criteria, as per the EU Delegated Acts.
