At RSFIA, we're dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint. That's why we're making this symposium a carbon-neutral event!
We're partnering with a trusted local carbon reduction company to achieve this goal. Using established methodologies, they'll assess emissions from the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel related to energy use, catering, accommodation and staff effort during our 2-day event. These emissions will be offset by a project certified by the Verified Carbon Standard and Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard, effectively reducing greenhouse gases elsewhere and balancing the event's impact.
We have chosen the Rio Anapu-Pacajá REDD Carbon Credit Project in Portel, which protects 165,707 hectares in a highly critical region of the Brazilian Amazon. The project mainly focuses on conserving the native forest through protection and conservation of native flora and fauna, and preventing degradation and deforestation from illegal loggers and encroachment.
Your voluntary contribution of €5 at registration will go directly towards supporting the Symposium carbon offset. For just a small contribution, you can be part of making this a sustainable event and ensure a positive backdrop for your participation.
